WELCOME TO OUR SCOUTS PAGE

Scouts are young people both girls and boys usually aged between 10 & 14 years old. They belong to the third section in the Scouting movement. Between the age of 13 1/2 and 14 years old Scouts can move on to the next section in the Scouting movement which is Explorer Scouts.

Scouts are easily recognised by their distinctive teal green shirts, Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, visits, camping and hiking. They usually meet together once a week in Scout troops.

So far this year our Scouts have been on the annual district camp.

Our troop meets once a week at our group HQ

Scout Activity & Staged Badges

Activity Badges

Activity Badges in the Scout section provide an opportunity to reward a young person who has taken part in an activity over a period of time. They should raise interest and extend a young person’s skills throughout their time in the Scout section. There are 70 activity badges which range from Camping to Map Reading and 6 staged badges which are gained throughout all the sections in the Scout movement. These badges range from Emergency aid to Swimmer and progress in stages according to the ability of the individual person.

Uniform for Scouts

The uniform for Scouts is a teal green shirt , Red with black boarder scarf (Necker) and a Leather Scout woggle. The Scout group supply the Scarf and the woggle when they are invested in to the troop. There are also extras to the uniform which are not essential , but you may wish to purchase. The extras are: Teal green Polo shirt, navy blue activity trousers, navy blue activity shorts and a Scout baseball cap.
