WELCOME TO OUR EXPLORERS PAGE

Explorer Scouts are young people both girls and boys usually aged between 14 & 18 years old. They belong to the oldest section in the Scouting movement. At the age of 18 Explorer Scouts can become leaders or join Scout Network.

About our unit

We are part of 4th Willenhall Scout Group and enjoy many activities including hiking, camping, adventurous activities . Our unit mainly work towards the Duke of Edinburgh award which has three stages bronze, sliver and gold. Our unit members are currently teamed up with the Scout Network section and Streetly youth club members as part of the Gold level of the award. This summer the unit will be do their expedition in the Brecon Beacons.

Explorer Scout Activity & Staged Badges

Activity Badges

Activity Badges in the Explorer Scout section provide an opportunity to reward a young person who has taken part in an activity over a period of time. They should raise interest and extend a young person’s skills throughout their time in the Explorer Scout section. There are 28 activity badges which range from Camping to Map Reading and 6 staged badges which are gained throughout all the sections in the Scout movement. These badges range from Emergency aid to Swimmer and progress in stages according to the ability of the individual person.

Uniform for Explorer Scouts

The uniform for Explorer Scouts is a beige coloured shirt , Red with black boarder scarf (Necker) and a Leather Scout woggle. The Scout group supply the Scarf and the woggle when they are invested in to the unit. There are also extras to the uniform which are not essential, but you may wish to purchase. The extras are: beige coloured Polo shirt, navy blue activity trousers, navy blue activity shorts and a Explorer Scout baseball cap.
